Students
A 30-day move out notice is required. If a minimum 30-day notice is not provided, the resident may be fined up to $250 and the remainder of the last month's rent. In addition, discontinuance of education at the University, graduation, or loss of enrolled student status for any reason constitutes grounds for termination of the tenancy, and student is required to vacate within 24 hours. This includes the end of the quarter if not continuing on to the next quarter. If not vacated within 24 hours, a late move-out fine of $250 and eviction may apply. Students graduating in the spring need to vacate within 24 hours following the commencement ceremony.

Faculty and staff
A 30-day move out notice is required. If not vacated within 2 weeks, a late move-out fine of $250 and eviction may apply.

  • If the resident does not vacate within the time allowed per policy or by the move out date provided (whichever date comes first), there may be further fines and consequences, including eviction.
  • The resident may not continue to stay in housing longer than policy allows without advance written approval from the Village Housing office.
  • The resident is to confirm they have vacated by returning keys and garage clickers to the Village Housing office. Those who have keypad locks may send an email to village@wallawalla.edu to confirm they have vacated. Resident will not be checked out of housing and will continue to be responsible for rent until this confirmation is received.
  • Any items left at the premises become the property of Walla Walla University, and the recently vacated resident will be held financially responsible for any dump and labor fees associated with disposing of those items.
  • Furniture or other articles not allowed in garbage containers  must be donated or disposed of properly. They may not be left in dumpsters, parking lots, or on university-owned properties. If found, the recently vacated resident will be held financially responsible for any dump and labor fees associated with disposing of those items.
  • The resident may be contacted to schedule a pre-inspection of the premises.
  • Walla Walla University Village Housing and/or Rental Properties reserves the right to enter the property and inspect for damages and cleaning needed on or after the move-out date provided.
  • The resident has 10 days from the date of this notice to request changes by email to village@wallawalla.edu. After 10 days, the move-out date is firm and the resident must vacate the premises on or before the move-out date provided.
